- 〇 Describe a challenging situation you successfully handled.
- 〇 Can you give me an example of a difficult situation you overcame?
Tell me about a challenge you overcame.
“How difficult was the challenge?”
“How did YOU respond to the challenge?”
Challenge → Action → Result → Learning
|---|---|---|
| Challenge | What was the challenge? |
| Action | What did you do?
| Result | What happened as a result? |
| Learning | What did you learn? |
One challenge I faced was a project that had fallen significantly behind schedule.
I reviewed the main causes, reset the priorities, and worked with the team to create a recovery plan.
As a result, we recovered most of the delay and completed the key milestones on time.
The experience taught me the importance of identifying risks and communicating early.

The project was very difficult because there were many problems…
Challengeは、
The project had fallen significantly behind schedule.
I worked very hard.
I did my best.
- 〇 I reviewed the priorities.
- 〇 I identified the main cause.
- 〇 I spoke with the key stakeholders.
- 〇 I created a recovery plan.
- 〇 I adjusted the schedule.
Challenge
I learned to communicate risks earlier.
Since then, I’ve built more checkpoints into my project plans.
It was a very difficult project because the deadline was short and we didn’t have enough people.
I reviewed the priorities and reorganized the workload so we could focus on the critical tasks first.
I worked very hard and finally completed the project.
I identified the main bottleneck and worked with the team to change the process.
The project became difficult because my manager didn’t make good decisions.
There were different views on how to move forward, so I focused on clarifying the priorities and finding common ground.
|---|---|---|
| Tell me about a challenge you overcame.
| Tell me about a difficult situation. Behavior | STAR-L |
| Tell me about a problem you solved.
| Tell me about a successful project. Contribution | Project Goal → Role → Action → Result → Learning |
| What is your biggest achievement? Impact | Challenge → Action → Result → Impact |
特に、
Tell me about a challenge you overcame.
と
Tell me about a problem you solved.
Problem you solved
Challenge you overcame

Tell me about a challenge you overcame.
One challenge I faced was a project that had fallen behind schedule.
I reviewed the main causes and reset the priorities.
We recovered most of the delay and completed the key milestones on time.
I learned the importance of identifying risks and communicating early.
Why was it difficult?
What was your specific role?
What other options did you consider?
What would you do differently now?
Tell me about a challenge you overcame.
Challenge → Action → Result → Learning
