英語面接で、これまでの成果や経験についてよく聞かれる質問の一つが、

• 〇 What accomplishment are you most proud of?
• 〇 What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?
• 〇 Tell me about an accomplishment you are proud of.
• 〇 What achievement are you most proud of?

「あなたが最も誇りに思う成果は何ですか？」

という質問です。

この質問を聞かれると、

「What is your biggest achievement? と同じ？」

「数字で示せる大きな成果を選んだ方がいい？」

「個人的に嬉しかった経験でもいい？」

「なぜ誇りに思っているかまで話すべき？」

と迷う方も多いと思います。

この質問では、単に「一番大きな成果」を聞いているわけではありません。

面接官が知りたいのは、

「あなたはどのような成果に価値を感じ、そこにどう貢献し、なぜその経験を誇りに思っているのか」

です。

今回は、英語面接で What accomplishment are you most proud of? と聞かれたときの回答の作り方と、まずは短く伝える英語回答例をご紹介します。

面接官が見ているポイント

この質問では、面接官は主に次の点を確認しています。

• ✅ どのような成果を大切にしているか
• ✅ その成果の中でどのような役割を果たしたか

この質問でおすすめなのが、

Accomplishment → Contribution → Result → Meaning

です。

例えば、

Accomplishment

One accomplishment I’m particularly proud of was helping improve a process that had been causing frequent delays.

まず、何を達成したのかを簡潔に伝えます。

Contribution

I analyzed the main issues and worked with several teams to redesign the workflow.

次に、自分が何をしたのかを説明します。

Result

As a result, we reduced processing time by about 30%.

成果を具体的に伝えます。

Meaning

I’m particularly proud of it because the improvement made the team’s daily work much easier.

最後に、なぜその成果を誇りに思っているのかを伝えます。

この Meaning が、この質問では非常に重要です。

まずは短く答える｜約30秒の英語回答例

まずは、伝えたいポイントを30秒程度にまとめた回答例を見てみましょう。

実際の面接では、質問の内容や面接官から求められる具体性によって、30〜60秒程度、Behavioral Questionでは60〜90秒程度話すこともあります。ここでは、回答の基本となるポイントを短くまとめています。

① Cybersecurity Analyst

Answer

I worked with business leaders to identify their needs and designed practical training around them. The program received strong feedback, and I was proud to see managers applying what they learned.

④ Airline Operations Coordinator

Answer

One accomplishment I’m proud of was helping improve communication during irregular operations. I worked with different teams to clarify responsibilities and information flow. 面接官が高く評価するポイント

① 「最大」ではなく「最も誇りに思う」を考える

この質問では、必ずしも一番大きな数字やプロジェクトを選ぶ必要はありません。

例えば、

• 初めてリーダーとして成功したプロジェクト
• 難しい顧客との関係を改善した経験
• チームの業務を改善した経験
• 後輩の成長を支援した経験
• 長期間取り組んだ問題を解決した経験

なども十分に使えます。

重要なのは、

「なぜ、その成果が自分にとって特別なのか」

を説明できることです。

② Contributionを明確にする

Our team successfully launched a new product.

だけでは、あなた自身のContributionが分かりません。

例えば、

I coordinated the key stakeholders and managed the launch schedule.

と伝えれば、自分の役割が見えてきます。

チームで達成した成果でも問題ありません。

ただし、

We achieved…

だけでなく、

I contributed by…

も説明できるようにしましょう。

③ Resultを具体的にする

成果について話す以上、Resultは重要です。

We reduced processing time by 25%.

The project was completed ahead of schedule.

Customer satisfaction improved.

など、数字があれば具体的に伝えます。

ただし、数字がなくても問題ありません。

The new process became the standard across the team.

The client renewed the contract.

The team was able to respond more consistently.

など、具体的な変化を説明できれば十分です。

④ 最後に「なぜ誇りなのか」を伝える

ここがこの質問の大きなポイントです。

例えば、

I’m proud of it because it had a lasting impact on the team.

I’m particularly proud because it was my first opportunity to lead a cross-functional project.

What made it meaningful was seeing the improvement help our customers directly.

この一文によって、成果だけではなく、仕事に対する価値観やMotivationまで面接官に伝わります。

回答チェックリスト

• ✅ 何を達成したのか最初に明確にしている
• ✅ 自分自身のContributionが入っている
• ✅ “We”だけでなく“I”の役割も説明している
• ✅ Resultが具体的になっている
• ✅ 数字が使える場合は無理なく入れている
• ✅ なぜその成果を誇りに思うのか説明している
• ✅ 自分の価値観や強みが見えるエピソードになっている
• ✅ 深掘りされても詳しく説明できる経験を選んでいる

 

NG回答

NG① 成果だけで終わる

I increased sales by 30% last year.

成果は分かりますが、あなたが何をしたのか、なぜ誇りなのかが分かりません。

例えば、

I changed our account strategy and worked closely with several key customers. As a result, sales increased by 30%.

とContributionを加えましょう。

NG② 「会社で一番大きな仕事」を選ぶだけ

I worked on a very large global project with more than 100 people.

プロジェクトの規模が大きくても、本人のContributionが見えなければ強い回答にはなりません。

大きさより、自分が何をしたか。

これを意識しましょう。

NG③ なぜ誇りなのかがない

We completed the project successfully and achieved our target.

悪い回答ではありませんが、

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

への回答としては、もう一歩欲しいところです。

I’m particularly proud of it because it was the first time I led a project across several departments.

など、Meaningを加えると、この質問への回答になります。

まで聞かれています。

だけでなく、

Proud＝Meaning

まで考えることがポイントです。

しかし、面接官として私が聞きたいのは、それだけではありません。

例えば、

まずAccomplishmentを伝える。

次に、

とContributionを説明する。

そして、

とResultを伝える。

最後に、

I’m particularly proud of it because the improvement made the team’s daily work much easier.

とMeaningを伝える。

この最後の一文があることで、

「何を達成した人なのか」

だけではなく、

「仕事の中で何を大切にしている人なのか」

まで見えてきます。

難しい英語を使う必要はありません。

このようなシンプルな英語で十分に強いアピールになります。

また、この質問も最初から長く話しすぎる必要はありません。

まずは30秒程度でAccomplishment → Contribution → Result → Meaningの核を伝える。

面接官が、

What was the biggest challenge?

What was your specific contribution?

Why was that important to you?

What did you learn from that experience?

と深掘りしてきたら、そこで詳しく説明します。

本番に向けては、同じエピソードを約30秒のShort Versionと60〜90秒のDetailed Versionの両方で話せるように準備しておくと安心です。

まとめ

面接官が知りたいのは、

「あなたが何を達成し、そこにどう貢献し、なぜその成果を誇りに思っているのか」
