Today we will be learning the idiom “better safe than sorry”.

今日のイディオム は“better safe than sorry”でーす！

“Better safe than sorry” means it is a good idea to take precautionary measures before something bad happens.

“better safe than sorry”の意味は、何か悪いことが起き無いかもしれないが、起きる前に慎重に行動すべきであること。転ばぬ先の杖・備えあれば憂いなし・安全第一

Examples of “better safe than sorry”:　例

“Even though you are late to the appointment, don’t speed when you drive.

Better safe than sorry!”

“たとえ約束の時間に遅れても、運転中にスピードの出しすぎには注意してね。

安全第一だからね!”

“We started locking our front door because there was a robbery in the neighborhood recently so better safe than sorry.”
