今日の1ポイント英会話レッスンは：

Today’s lesson is a quick one! This lesson will teach you useful words that you can use when travelling abroad. We will be looking at 3 words which all have the same meaning.

今回のレッスンはシンプル！海外旅行中に知っていて得する英単語を教えちゃいます！

PHARMACY          DRUG STORE        CHEMIST

All of these names refer to a shop that sells medicine and medical related products.

これらは全て英語では同じ意味で、調剤薬局や薬屋さんとか薬品関係の商品を販売するお店をいいます！

However, different countries use different names! ** 

なんだけど、それぞれの国ではそれぞれの単語を使って表現します！**

In Australia, the word “pharmacy” is the most commonly used.

オーストラリアでは、“pharmacy”を良く使います。

In Great Britain, the word “chemist” is the most commonly used.

イギリスでは、“chemist”を良く使います。

In the United States and Canada, “pharmacy” and “drug store” are both used.

アメリカでは、“pharmacy”と“drug store”の両方を良く使います。

In countries where English is NOT the main language spoken, any of these 3 words might be used. For example, in Japan, I have seen the name “Drug Store” used a lot.

英語が公用語ではない国々では特別こだわりは無いようです。

たとえば日本では”Drug Store”が良く使われているようですね。

So, if you are travelling to another country and you need to buy some medical supplies, it is very important to know the different names used!

海外を旅行する場合、その国ではどの言い方をするのかを知っておいたほうがいいよね！
